AQTION was recently featured in the NYSE weekly newsletter "ESG Top 5"
In short, the newsletter covers AQTION's study "Is There a Difference Between How US and European Investors Approach Stewardship?" which explores the similarities and differences in stewardship practices between US and European investors. The study points out that investors are not monolithic and that there are key differences between US and European approaches: European asset managers are more likely to have PMs involved in voting decisions, rarely have country-specific voting guidelines, more consistently oppose CEO+Chair combined roles, and are much more likely to publish statements of discontent.
The study also notes some similarities - there isn't a huge gap in communication on E&S voting aspects or biodiversity policies, nor a large difference in use of proxy advisors. The findings provide insights to investor relations teams, highlighting the ever-growing need to understand investor preferences, of which can be diverse, not only between investors but also between jurisdictions.
